A very warm welcome to St Thomas More Catholic Academy and Sixth Form College.
I am proud to be the Principal of this wonderful, faith filled school community where our mission is to help students grow to become disciples of Jesus Christ following His love.
At St Thomas More, we support students on their journey of faith as they prepare to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives to serve the ‘common good’. We provide an exciting curriculum for all young people and celebrate students’ academic and personal achievements. Our GCSE and A Level results speak for themselves and are a testament to the high quality learning experience we offer.
We have exceptionally high standards in all aspects of our work at St Thomas More and all staff in the school are committed to ensuring that we develop students to show resilience and determination whilst being the best that they can be, in all they do. We insist on considerate behaviour which creates a safe and highly effective learning environment for all members of the school community. We encourage students to make the most of the spiritual, creative, cultural and sporting opportunities that we offer as part of the Holy Spirit Experience.
We create a culture of tolerance where people of diverse identities are recognised, welcomed, respected and cherished. Rooted in the Gospel values, our simple message to students is ‘Be kind’. We expect all students to show tolerance, understanding and respect for one another and the adults who support them every day in school. We expect students to be in school every day and on time, to work hard and to be responsible.
As a school , we are proud to be part of the Holy Spirit MAC and promote a spirit of charity, social justice and compassion for others leading to practical outreach and partnerships. We want our students to recognise and support the needs of those who are vulnerable in our school and wider community.
Visitors to our school will be greeted with a friendliness and warmth where they will see positive relationships between staff and students. We look forward to welcoming you to St Thomas More!
May God bless our school community.

On behalf of the Holy Spirit MAC, I extend a warm welcome to both the MAC and to St. Thomas More Catholic Academy and Sixth Form College.
St. Thomas More is a thriving, vibrant school where students of all abilities are given the very best opportunities to grow into young adults who, when they leave us, are ready to go out into the world to make a positive difference.
At St. Thomas More, we know that academic results matter and so we provide all students with the support, resources and outstanding teaching they need to achieve excellent results. However, we know that supporting our young people to take up their place in an increasingly challenging world takes so much more than results alone. We pride ourselves on providing a bespoke range of learning opportunities, ensuring students develop an understanding of their unique skills and talents and a good knowledge of the world they live in. From contributing to our extensive programme of charities and social action to taking part in a range of exciting residential trips, a student’s time at St. Thomas More is full of learning that lasts well beyond their time at school.
As a past pupil of St. Thomas More, I know what a mark the school and our wonderful staff leave on each student. It is a great testament to the commitment of all staff at St. Thomas More that in our recent staff survey, 100% of staff said they are proud to work at St. Thomas More. Similarly, 100% of staff said that students are safe at St. Thomas More. This is undoubtedly because Mrs Thomas, Mrs Anderton and the team are relentless in their drive to support every student and every family. They want the best for every student and they work tirelessly to ensure they get a good deal. This is why 100% of staff at St. Thomas More say the school is well led and managed.
I am exceptionally proud of all St. Thomas More Catholic Academy offers our students, their families and the wider community. It is rightly recognised as an outstanding Catholic school by the Archdiocese of Birmingham and the uncompromising drive of all staff to continually improve means that we always strive to be outstanding in everything we do.
