Revision Conference a great success

Rebecca Teagles

Earlier this year, fifty Year 13 students attended an A-level Psychology and Sociology revision conference in Birmingham. I would like to take this opportunity to praise our students on the level of maturity, poise and dignity shown on this trip

. Among numerous highlights for me, the best part of the day was watching Rebecca Teagles debate a critical psychological theory – the use of biological treatments for mental health disorders – with a student from another school in front of a lecture theatre full of 250 other pupils

Given a very short amount of time to prepare, the arguments developed by our team of students and presented by Rebecca were absolutely outstanding. Rebecca’s ability to argue her points while at the same time thinking on her feet to counter the opposition’s arguments was nothing short of astounding.

Pupils were also enthusiastic in their participation in the course, with Morgan Snow claiming a remarkably large percentage of the M&M prizes offered in competitions. There were additional outstanding responses offered by Samantha Craddock and James Constant to name but a few

Overall, I would like to thank and congratulate the students for their exemplary conduct during the trip.
