School meal information

The lunch menu at St Thomas More Catholic School and Sixth Form College is based on a Cash Cafe style service where pupils choose from a menu of individually priced items which include the following;

  • Traditional hot lunches
  • Pasta and noodle pots
  • Filled jacket potatoes
  • Hot baps, wraps and paninis
  • Freshly prepared pizza
  • A variety of salads
  • Sandwiches and filled baguettes
  • Fresh fruit salads
  • Yoghurts
  • Sweet and savoury bakery items
  • Chilled milk, juice and water based drinks
  • Separate Sixth Form Cafe

The school operates a cashless payment system for all food and drink purchases. There is also a facility called 'Parent Pay' to allow payments to be made on line and we encourage parents to use this system. Where do our Main Ingredients come from?

  • Minced Beef - Organic from Lower Hurst Organic Farm in Derbyshire
  • Chicken - Red Tractor Farm Assured and RSPCA Freedom Foods Accredited
  • Sausages - Gold Medal Winning Farm Assured Pork from John Langford's Butchers in Welshpool
  • Eggs - Free Range from farms in Leicestershire
  • Fruit & Vegetables - Mostly UK to minimise transportation and emissions and to support UK producers
  • Potatoes and Bread - UK sourced
  • Yoghurts - Muller Dairy in Shropshire

New Free School Meals arrangements

If you are on benefits such as JSA, ESA, the guarantee element of state pension credit, Universal Credit or Child Tax Credit, and have an annual income not in excess of £16,190, you may be entitled to free school meals.
